Biography Information:
"Legendary Photography, painter, and maker of objects and films, Man Ray was on the most versatile and inventive artists of this century. Born in Philadelphia in 1890, he knew the worlds of Greenwich Village in the avant garde era following the 1913 Armory show; Paris in the 1920's and 1930's, where he played a key role in the Dada(達達主義) and Surrealist(超現實主義) movements; The Hollywood of the 1940s, where he joined others chased by war from their homes in Europe; and finally, Paris again until his death in 1976. "

曾出版《都市底層》、《白色檔案》等攝影集，以具有社會意識的攝影作品知名。

1998年，黃致陽應邀參加嘉義裝置藝術大展，四處尋覓創作煤材，最後找到牡蠣養殖的東石鄉。"當你看到東石鄉整串的牡蠣殼，陽光一照，那珠貝般的光澤閃閃晃動，和平時餐桌上幾顆軟糕糕的牡蠣相比，感官全面洞開，真的非常震撼！
"從平面到立體，乃至於空間，黃致陽過去慣常採取單一的結構性筆法、肌理創作，做出如毛毛蟲（如"肖孝"）、草履蟲（如"戀人絮語"）、蛋（如"潮天"、"巢穴"）等生物性本質，從單一元素建構出複雜龐巨的畫作、裝置藝術，取用的煤材雖有變化，長期間累積下來，似一個具有延續性的故事，
